Keeping up with the asymmetry, the case and the bracelet of Masterlink are no less impressive. The Masterlink case still features the iconic “smile” at 6 o’clock yet changing on the top and becoming squarer. Therefore, the bracelet links echo the sinuous curve at the bottom while following the geometrical lines on the top. The juxtaposition of different curves and lines, however, contributes to the dynamic and harmonious balance of the watch aesthetics. The timepiece is available with a double-layered and sunburst dial featuring vertical stripes in blue colour. Masterlink, the future legacy: a timepiece that maintains Gerald Charles key values of legacy, versatility and craftsmanship, taking the Maison into the future.

The last integrated asymmetric bracelet designed by Mr. Genta
In 2007, Gérald Charles Genta designed the Maison's first integrated bracelet watch as an exclusive piece for the Royal family of Sarawak, a Malaysian state. The predecessor of the Masterlink featured a full pavé set bracelet and case in round diamonds and baguette rubies, carrying the DNA of high-end gem setting which now is signature to the Maison.
Exclusively developed in-house by Gerald Charles
A rarity for integrated bracelets
The bracelet's links are held together by a hidden construction, visible only on the back of the watch with the aid of a magnifying glass. The butterfly-type clasp is also concealed, and its metal components are designed for comfort on the wrist and softness to the touch. In the same vein, the push-pieces to open it are discreetly nestled within, ensuring the design’s fluidity sweeps smoothly over the unified case and bracelet.

The vertical Côtes de Genève stripes on the bridges continue the theme of the dial, creating an overall coherence between the two faces of the watch. The micro-rotor features a two-part finish, sandblasted at the base and with a sunburst brushing on the top.

Case
The Masterlink case comes from the ‘Maestro’ one with the ‘smile’ at 6 o'clock, with some small adjustments: while the Maestro is designed around a rectangle, the Masterlink is based on a square. Consequently, the proportions are therefore more contained. A particularly challenging and specific development pertains to the crown: despite the case’s slimness (7.99 mm), it is screw-down. The Maison overcame the challenge to offer a 100 metres-waterproof watch without adding even a tenth of a millimeter to the height of the case.
